^ I think her own label is a bad idea - beacuse she needs to be attatched to a big label for distribution and promotional purposes, plus the fact that she doesnt just do music she does everything else movies fashion etc she needs a good strong label behind her to do some of the work.

i think the A&R idea is good but i know its been mentioned b4 she should try to follow the sound of the moment eg work with timbaland. I think its better to try and carve out you own direction like she did with CAUM her spanish cross over has influenced other like beyonce and n.furtado.

I think the producers are vvv. important. I prefer when there is just a couple of producers/writers and they create a sound for the album. I think if she got together with swizz beatz and did the bulk of the record it would be better, or another producer - I like the neptunes.
cos sometimes when every track is a different producer its like the record company have just been shopping 4 tracks rather than try and concentrate on the artist.
Thats y i think CAUM works so well its just marc, reyes and estafano.

but for now the best think they can do is release second single but in the meantime find a KILLER track and re-release album with sum extra tracks next summer with euro tour.

also please do a studio movie I would love Sin City they have the perfect role for her thats available and rodriquez loves her! - its a young, hot, guaranteed hit movie. I think a hit movie also helps her music career!

live nation doesnt have a good distributing arm of the business they are mainly concert organisers. In the press it says they need to strike a deal with another major record label to distribute as live nation will be crap. She already had a good deal with maverick - she should have fought harder with warner to get a better deal, or moved to one of the other big four Universal - Sony/Bmg - EMI

I see it happen with smaller artists all the time and they do it for the same reason as madonna by getting a bigger cut of the profits. BUT it always hits a snag i just know madonnas albums wont be well distrubted in emerging/small markets and even the US. shes not getting any younger and she needs a good label like warner and the mangement team around her.

Labels and team are very important look at Mariah's career ups and down. theres more i can name but dont wanna ramble on
