anyone who thinks Jen wouldnt care about this is a wishful thinker. Seriously, she made no secret of how proud she was of the album and of how much passion,
heart and soul she put into it. to be completely frozen out by the community that you feel like you're a part of and the community that the album is
predominantly geared towards would HURT, BADLY.

Yes, but the reviews weren't all positive. Many of them blasted Jen.
 A Golden Globe nomination is still possible, though.

It's sad, Jen will never please the haters, and b/c of that she is not recognized (award-wise) for her work. I don't know if it has to do with race,
Bennifer, or her tabloid headlining past, but it's not right. Us fans and Jen can "whatever" the haters all we want but somehow they still play a
factor in Jen's recognition.

I posted a comment last night and then my connection wasn't working.
Basically, I don't think the Academy or any awards for that matter won't nominate Jennifer because of her race. Look at Shakira, Benicio del Toro, Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, and others. I believe that her string of semi-bad movies...  (Enough, Gigli, imo) have affected her image INCLUDING the whole Bennifer saga. Maybe not permanently (hopefully). And it's sad that something
like Bennifer could be held against you even though nothing really bad happened for the exception of overexposure, but is that enough to have this
"hateration"? She did nothing wrong really. I hope her time comes where critics and people alike give her a fair chance and don't just diss her
because of working with ANOTHER partner in film  , fur or anything as stupid as those.

I don't think race has anything to do with it. There is no doubt there is racism, stereotyping and typecasting in Hollywood, but not to the extent where
they won't give credit where its due. BUT, actors have to "earn" it, white or not. A string of badly received movies, save for a few positively
received ones; a baggage hold the size of a 747; and a music career all add up to Jen's lack of Oscars and potential nominations. She really does need more
critical hits and a movie that is well received across the entire board to garner a nomination.
Her public image is being revamped pretty well, and she's doing more serious/independent/'better' movies now, so her award prospects are looking up, but they're not going to be handed to her just like that. |

Her string of bad movies has hurt her more than other actors because of her baggage and music career, though. Look at actors like Nicole Kidman. She made all
kinds of crappy movies for decade and suddenly, she divorces Tom Cruise (great PR) and makes one good movie and she's a critical darling.

Also they may have ignored her because she didn't promot the album on any spanish show, which is weird for a spanish album, i think this could have help.
