CONCERTS: J.Lo show with Marc Anthony a no-go

An air of mystery surrounds today's announcement that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's Saturday concert at SDSU's Cox Arena has been canceled. Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.

The show, originally scheduled for Oct. 24 at the same venue, was postponed last month until Saturday because of the devastating fires in San Diego County. Now it's off altogether because of an unspecified "scheduling conflict," according to a press release issued by Live Nation, the concert's promoter. The release continues: "Unfortunately, rerouting the tour has been impossible due to the event's last-minute postponment caused by the area wildfire emergency."

Come again? If rerouting the tour, which concluded last Friday in Miami, "has been impossible," why was it rerouted back here in the first place? Granted, it made little logistical sense to return to the West Coast, where the tour -- J.Lo's first ever -- included shows last month in San Jose, Los Angeles and Anaheim. But then the time to cancel would have been last month, not now.

So what's the real reason? Could it be J.Lo's still unofficially confirmed pregnancy? (Repeat after us: Marc Anthony is a very lucky man.) Or could it be flat box office sales? (Ticket prices, which went as high as $150 per seat for the Cox Arena show, were slashed by $35 each Oct. 11 in an apparently unsuccessful move to boost lagging sales.)

(Los Angeles, CA) The November 10th Jennifer Lopez / Marc Anthony concert at Cox Arena has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. Unfortunately, rerouting the tour has proven impossible, due to the event's last-minute postponement caused by the area wildfire emergency.

Refunds for ticketholders are available at point-of-purchase.


That's too bad for the fans that didn't get to see a show.
