All six of her previous studio albums, including this year's Spanish-language "Como Ama Una Mujer," debuted in the top 10 -- and four of those peaked in the top two slots. Her sterling chart history was first blemished when her last English-language album, 2005's "Rebirth," failed to click with consumers. Though it debuted at No. 2 with 261,000, it quickly left the chart after only 17 weeks. A short stay, compared with the 40 weeks that her 2002 album, "This Is Me ... Then," spent on the chart. Her new album's first single, "Do It Well," has so far peaked at No. 37 on the CHR/Top 40 airplay chart. She last hit the top 10 on the CHR/Top 40 chart in 2003 when "All I Have" spent four weeks at No. 1. |

ever doubt HITS' Daily Double's predictions, and even worse, online album sales do not count toward BB100 sales, ouch:
We told you exclusively a couple of days ago that Jennifer Lopez's new CD, Brave, was expected to debut low its first week out. That's an understatement! The record BOMBED. And it hurt. Just how badly did Brave do? J. Lo's new album failed to crack the Top Ten in the U.S.! Yup, it came in at #12, selling just 53,000 albums. All of Jennifer's six previous studio albums - even her recent Spanish one - managed to debut in the Top 10. Her last English-language CD, Rebirth, debuted in 2005 at #2, selling 261,000 copies. That's five times more than her new CD sold this past week! Awwww. Sux for Jenny. Who beat her??? Josh Groban did! Yup, the pretty-voiced singer's new album, Noel, debuted at #10, selling 64,000 copies. Not only did Josh Groban beat J. Lo, but he beat her with a Christmas album! In October! Country singer Sara Evans also beat Lopez with her Greatest Hits, which came in at #8 with 66,000. LeAnn Rimes' Family debuted startlingly well this week, selling 74,000 copies, good enough for a #4 position. And, to our surprise and disgust, Kid Rock's new album, Rock 'N' Roll Jesus, debuted at #1 this week, selling 172,000 copies. Last week's #1, Bruce Springsteen's Magic, slips to #2 this week, selling 133,000 (down 60%). And Rascal Flatts' Still Feels Good is #3 this week with 96,000. Poor J. Lo. Don't count Jen out guys. She could come back in a couple of years with a bang. Right now though, trust me, she's doing just fine. She has something
going on in her life that is going to be a life time of joy. No music, no movies or anything career related can even come close to it. Yeah, it's
dissapointing for the fans and I'm sure she hoped for better results, but it is what it is.
As a fan I will always support her and her career whether thing are going good or not so good. That's life and she's human just like the rest of us

Jennifer Lopez's "Brave" CD sold 55,000 copies and finished at No. 11 in its debut week. In other words: It's over, and so is J-LO's
recording career.
A good actress and never a singer, Lopez had her moment as invented diva. But truly, the center could not hold. A Sony Music insider says the album was part of her existing deal and that a lot of money was not spent on "Brave" over all. Lopez, now rumored to be four months pregnant with twins, will have bigger issues to deal with soon. Whether she will lipsynch lullabies is a whole other column That's from Fox News. |

I bought the album and I really did like it. I really like the first song, Stay Together. I was reading the thank you's and I knew everyone but
Alex...being that he/she was named before Arianna, could that be the step child to Marc that we thought was a misprint or did Leslie have another child??
I thought the album was good. Of course there are going to be some songs that people don't like, but overall, I enjoyed it. I bought it yesterday and played it all the way to NC...so there. |
